The Modifications on line tool is operational to make changes and updates of information for different Contacts, DNS and certain data Registrant data.

Due that these Modifications are done in secure server, it is required that the browser is at least Internet Explorer 5.01 or Netscape 4.7.

NIC.EC announces two important improvements of great benefit for its users that are operational today as a complement of the August 6, 2001 announcement:

Dynamic on line tool through the Web page to register new domain names. In order to initiate a registry process, check the availability of the domain name through Whois Search. If you have one or more domains registered with NIC.EC and you have not received a username and password, send a mail to info@nic.ec requesting it. If you do not have domain registered with NIC.EC, proceed with the step by step registration process and create your own username and password. The registry in line is in Secure Server mode.

New Web Page Design:

The www.nic.ec web page is totally redesigned to get a faster response, more user friendly navigation, update content and for implementation of Whois Search and Registration tools.

2. Registry Fee decrease.

3. Decrease of required documents.

4. Conditions for Activation and Deactivation of new Domain Names and Renewal.

5. Complete Whois results.

6. Registration and Renewal for several years.

7. Second Level Domain .pro.ec for professionals.

During the next weeks an On-Line tool will be available through the web page for Registration, Renewal and Modification of Domain Names.
