I changed my internet service provider (ISP) , what should I do ?

If you already have a domain name registered, and you changed or are in the process of changing your internet service provider or web hosting provider, you should communicate to us the new information of DNS primary and secondary server. This information is provided by your new internet provider.

I do not have a server or DNS , what can I do ?

If you have a web page or if you are in the process of creating one, the information of DNS primary and secondary server is supplied by your internet service provider o web hosting provider. If you do not have a web page, you can instruct to NIC.EC to assign a non active DNS, however in the future when you have your web page or want to use your email address with your domain name, you will have to instruct us to change the new DNS information, otherwise your web page will not be accessed or your email address will not be active.

How can I get the information of DNS / Nameservers?

Usually this information is provided by your Internet or Web service provider with whom you use the domain for email or web page hosting.

How do I modify the DNS or Nameserves for my domain?

You may do the modifications online , in the Domain Management menu under DNS Modification .

Can I register a domain name and have the hosting in another country?

Yes, you may register an .ec domain name and have the hosting of your web page anywhere in the world , which does not affect the registration or activation of the domain name.
